Three steps are required to display Mode and Squint information in Nova.

Step 1: Enter ALAT and ALON information.  

  • From the Main Menu, select Setup, then Satellites;

  • Select the satellite be clicking on it;

  • In the lower left of the window, enter the appropriate ALat/ALon.  Make sure that you put the correct value in the correct spot.

  • Note: Enter the published values.  You do not have to add or subtract anything to "correct" the calculations as necessary for some older satellite tracking programs.

Step 2: Tell Nova what kind of calculations to make

  • While still in Setup/Satellites, click on the Sched button;

  • In the Satellite Mode Schedule window, enter the appropriate range of MA values and select the correct calculation method.

Step 3: Enable Squint text data display line

  • In the Individual View Configuration screen for the View, click on the Text tab;  

  • Click on the check boxes for MA and/or Squint angle so that they will be displayed in the text output of the View.
