To set up Observers, go to the Main menu and select Setup/Observers:
Nova has two Observer databases:
- The Main City Database contains about 2,000 cities and cannot be edited.
- The Observers List contains as many locations as desired and can be edited.
To add a new Observer to Nova's Observers List, follow these steps
- See if the desired observer is present in the Main City Database. If it is present, then drag it with the mouse to the Observers List. If it is not present, then go to step 2
- If the Observer location that you want is not already present in the Main database, then you must enter its latitude and longitude manually.
- Go to the Edit Location field in the lower left of the Setup/Observers screen.
- Click on each field and enter the appropriate value.
- When finished, click on Add to Observers List
- If you also want the new Observer to be the AutoTracking Observer, click on that button too.
Now the desired Observer should appear in the Observers List. This makes it available to be added to a View.
